Is this noise normal?

This is my first BMW. To me, this noise doesn't sound normal, but I sent a video to my SA and he said he didn't hear anything.

I hear this whine on a cold start (always)

Sounds like the valve-tronic-thingy near the passenger top engine side in combination with cold start.

Some say this is totally normal. And many of us who do hear it live with it as it goes away once warm.

Others have had the valve activator thing (no clue what its called) replaced under warranty. Some reported it solved them from ever hearing it again. Others said the sound came back.

I live with it here.
