Bay Area Body Shop

Hey Guys,

So my car got keyed on one side that I'll be claiming through insurance. Can anybody recommend a body shop that does spectacular work in the Bay Area? Specifically, any ones that'd be willing to assist with a $500 deductible would be awesome .

Thx all

What do you mean be willing to assist with a $500 deductible?

The guys at Palladium Auto Body in Hayward have worked on several friend's GTRs and they rave about this place. Super nice guys but they were too pricey for me so I took it to my regular guy in SoCal. But since you're claiming insurance, I don't think it matters.

Not sure if they'll help cover deductible, it doesn't hurt to ask though.

How much are you saving going from 1000$ to 500$ deductible for auto insurance?

Honestly no clue, I'm usually at $500 for cars in my garage and $100 for what I park on the street for comprehensive. Never had it at $1k

Unless I'm misunderstanding this, why would a body shop cover your deductible?

Over the past 20 years / 6 (ish) repair jobs I've never paid the entire deductible. If you have under an insurance claim, you're throwing money down the toilet

if it's under your deductible, aren't you supposed to cover that portion? what's in it for the body shop for them to cover you? maybe i'm missing something...

Some body shop covers the deductible if it is a large repair or if they are desperate for business.

A body shop can fudge the deductible cost into their estimate pretty easily.
