drove an M3 at the PC in spartanburg

drove a melbourne red e90 sedan 6mt today. you all are so lucky to own m3s, im hooked now that ive driven one on a track, revving to 8400 rpm is insane, and it never seems to bounce off the rev limiter, and it grips like no other car. Ive driven plenty of E9x m3s on the street but i have a whole new appreciaton. any of you that have not driven your car on a track, go. now. or go to the Performance center and beat on BMW's m3s haha

i created the thread after day 1 of the two day adult school. day 2 (today) i drove the M5, along with a 135 coupe, 335 conv, 650 coupe, and X6. the x6 was incredible, the nose tucked in with more enthusiasm than the m5! the 135 was a dissapointment, instead of slide it kind of bounced around, i think thats due to the short wheelbase. the 335 conv was extremely impressive, almost no cowl shake, and it handled beautifully. the 650 was meh, nothing stood out to me, it sounded kind of muffled, my instructor said that was due to the emissions regs, because i know 645s are pretty loud. Lastly, the beast. the m5. it was incredible, very remiscent of the m3 in terms of torque curve, (probably due to the fact that their redlines are very close, 8400 for m3, 8250 for m5), but i had driven m5s on the street, but holy god, the smg really came into its own stride on the track, i was so impressed. if any of you have considered doing the performance center school, DO IT!

well, the m5 we drove during what they call "performance drive" which is when you drive all different types of bmws on the handling track, and we drove the m5, but you may not, it all depends on your instructors. and my dad, bein a dealer and all, got me the hookup with the m3, since its a stick, they wont let you go near it if your in the 2 day perf school, the m5 we drove was smg.
