Question About Lost Coding Options With Current I-Step Software
I have updated the software (i.e. the I-Step) once in my car since I purchased it back in Dec 2016 (my car is a MY17). I updated my car in December 2017. I needed to re-do all of my original coding as the update wiped it out. However, the one coding feature that was "lost" was the ability to change the "tripple blink" functionality to any number of blinks. Not sure why/how BMW did this, but to date I don't believe this functionality has been found someplace else deep inside the coding parameters of the current software.
I am thinking about updating my software again, but I don't want to lose any of the coding options that I have now - or at least I would like to know what may be lost before I update my I-Step software. So my question is, has there been any other known coding options that have been "lost" with some of the later I-step updates (Jan 2018 I-step and newer)? And for clarification, my question is about coding options that were avaialble, but then lost - not options that were never available to begin with. For example, MY18 cars came programmed from the factory unable to remember the top down camera setting in reverse - and IIRC a coding solution has not been found yet. So in this example, the top down view for MY18 cars is not a coding option that was "lost" since MY18 cars never had it to begin with (or at least it has not been found yet). Thanks!
