Change M performance steering wheel stripe color?

Is there a way to change the color of the blue stripe on the bmw M performance v1 steering wheel? I want it to be red instead

Buy quality leather dye in appropriate color you want. Might have to apply several coats (letting dry in between each) to fully cover up existing color

I re-dyed a blue stripe on my old E92 Perf wheel, as it had faded, & the results were perfect

I just ordered the stuff to do mine. Will post results soon, changing it from faded blue to fire red with glossy finisher!

I’ll do this if the repaint doesn’t work

I went to hobby lobby and got white reflective tape for mine. It was the same thickness of the stripe and outside of the stitching at the bottom of the inside of the wheel not showing though the tape, it looks stock.

The stripe on the steering wheel is around 11mm-12mm (almost 1/2”). the extra width is actually helpful since you can wrap the tape around the edges that curve around instead of seeing the blue gap the peaks underneath the side. So any half inch vinyl tape will work.

Hell yeah. Better than painting and easily reversible. And the color choices are endless if one feels the need to change it up a bit.

Very disappointed in the dye on these stripes. Mine looks horrible after only a couple months.
