Cold start delete... How?

Running currently DINAN Stage 3 on my ZCP plus full time open valves and second cats and resonator delete.

What would be the easiest option to get rid of the annoying cold start but keep my Dinan tune?

Thanks

Don’t think you can
You need a custom flash tune that gets rid of the cold start

Think of it if your Dinan had an option to disable cold start. Since it’s a dealer installed option - it won’t.

Yup Tommy is right, you need a flash tune to disable cold start.

Okay, but if I flash only the cold start delete, the Dinan tune should be still active?

Yes, but...there's a good chance Dinan will not honor the warranty that comes with Dinan parts if something happens and you have a flash tune. The warranty is about the only selling point the Dinan has.

Best bet is to ditch the Dinan entirely, and get a good flash tune. It will give you better performance and better reliability than any piggyback tune, which is what the Dinan is, and not a very good one, at that.

If you simply do a "features only" tune and keep the stock map, sans cold start, I dont see why this would interfere with Dinan.

It won't at all. We've done it a number of times. Couple people last week just got burbles and speed limit delete and it paired up fine with the DINAN piggyback.

Now we're talking! That's the information I needed.

Is your tune something I can do on my own or is it remote flash?

Thanks

Edit: Never mind, got all information. Gonna send you an email later.

Their customer service at least via email is like zero. As much as I like my tune, but because of the horrible customer service this is my last Dinan tune I ever bought.

The problem is that Dinan will never do it/allow it since cold start delete messes with the emissions process which warms up the catalytic converter.

It's not that they won't allow, it's more that they will likely deny any warranty claims if you also have a flash tune, even if that flash tune is purely stock, but with cold start deleted. As the warranty is pretty much the only selling point for the Dinan, might as well ditch the Dinan box, and actually use the flash tune.

First they need to know about the flash, second I have the DINAN tune since three years... No idea how long their warranty is but should be over soon.

No idea how long the warranty is. I can pretty much guarantee, though, that if you have an expensive warranty claim through Dinan, they will dig into the ECU and will find the flash tune, even if you think you're erased it.

If you do think the warranty is up, and you plan on getting a flash tune for cold start delete, there is literally no reason to keep it a stock tune, and still use the Dinan. Any reputable flash tune is going to make more power than a Dinan piggyback and be safer and more reliable than the Dinan.

I doubt Dinan can and will do it, since they just use 3rd party warranty.

I have my tune for three years without any issues, not looking for any flash tune at the moment. Don't need more Performance, just want to get rid of the noise in the morning.

What about your warranty? Obviously I want a flash tune but I also don't want to spend 30K on a blown motor... any ideas?

How are you liking Dinan? Do you notice a big difference? I had stage 2 on my m4 before, but now I have a 2018 M3 w the comp package. Does Dinan have a system that adds on to the comp HP or does it just add HP to the standard 425?

Do you have the Dinan exhaust and intake with it or did you buy other intake and exhaust?

Well...

I don't need the fastest car
I don't need the lowest car
I don't need the loudest car
I don't need the widest car

If someone is looking for the highest numbers, I'm sure other tune can do better.

I have my stage 3 since got my bran new car, installed at the dealership.
Headache free, smooth tune. Back in the days there was no OBD flash, and still it would bothering me flashing back every time I bring the car to the dealership.

Maybe I should've just texted my friend instead of publically commenting? I am not starting a debate.

Something to note is you don't need to flash back to stock every time, you only need to if warranty or software related servicing.

He wasn't replying to you, he was replying to someone else. You've already made clear your lack of knowledge, and stubborn ignorance on this, and that's fine. Doesn't mean other, more reasonable people can't discuss it.
