18 months later it's here
Finallly got the new ride, 2 days from unload at dock to dealer!! sufficeth to say I am elated and hope to drive it more this weekend. I always enjoyed seeing pics of new cars so I just wanted to get them up and say I have no regrets with the car or DCT so far. Even managed to get money off MSRP given the market and despite placing the order at MSRP long ago.

Congratulations...
You have the same car is mine...  The only difference i have is high gloss shadowline. When i ordered the car i had my doughts about the wood trim. Now i have the car i really like that trim. It's perfect in combination with the Bambus Beige leather. |

Very nice.....it looks like Jerez Black or is it normal black? Either way it looks VERY sharp in the VERT...... I might have to drive a vert to see what its like.....hmm maybe get one for the wife????

Congratulations man! Love the pictures and, of course, love Jerez Black and the Sycamore Antracite Wood! Great choice. I've ordered JZB + FR + Sycamore -- should be here in a little under two weeks. Can't wait! Have seen JZB + FR combo, but never with the Sycamore, so I'm taking a bit of a risk there.
I know others have asked, but I've not seen a response. How did you manage to get $ off MSRP if you'd ordered the car at MSRP? I ask because I'm in the same boat. When I ordered my E93 M3, the dealer told me I was getting the best possible deal (waiving dealer mark-up) since I'm a repeat customer. However, fast-forward a few months and I've seen the same dealer (BMW San Francisco) pimping their M3's on eBay at MSRP. I want to politely ask them for a better deal, but don't know if that would be ethical given the fact I've already committed to the order (with $5K deposit) at MSRP. Your guidance and any further details of your experience would definitely be appreciated.

They need to sell these cars, and as hot as Vert may be -they wont sell it the next day! Its quite simple, does your dealer have inventory of M3s (If so, are they Convertibles?). If they do, then I wouldn't take it without a minimum of $1000-$1500 discount off MSRP. No offense, but dont be a pussy to ask for a discount on a car you know they are discounting for others?!?!?!

I then said if they gave me a discount I would feel more comfortable buying the 08. I was shocked that he was in agreement and b/c of my surprise I made a mistake and asked for 1K off which I got w/o a problem. Certainly could have got more but live and learn. In addition he gave me a price adjustment as the price of options had gone up since I ordered the car. I think in a way slammed M3 is right, you are the consumer and despite the fact that we here on this board feel that this is a car worth the price, we are not the majority and there are not enough people to support their production with the current economy. Whether they act like it or not they NEED your business. I am in a moderate to large city, no where near the size of the bay area but I am very familiar with that market as my folks still live out there. They are hurting out there as well(parents neighbor is MBZ dealership owner) so ask and you shall receive!! Good luck. Oh and the car is great, haven't driven as much as I would have liked this weekend b/c of family commitments but will try to get more pics up today.
