467M wheels and MPBK

Should 467M wheels work with MPBK?

Because mine obviously do not.

Well, it was hard not to notice. I put my winters on on one side and decided to move my car to work on the other side when I heard a really bad noise and car was not rolling... So I went out and saw this.

Was so sure that OEM 19’’ should fit and they actually almost did, so I haven’t checked if rims were touching anything...

I think I’ll try spacers first.

Just wonder - no one with 467 and MBPK here?

Not much help since I have 469's, but I did just put on the MPBK kit and bought the X5M 19" spare. It cleared the calipers with no touching. I tried the spare as a direct bolt-on and it cleared, although tight. I run 15mm spacers on all 4 tires so that did give me a little more room.

First Pic is with the spacer.

Second Pic is without the spacer.

Thanks, I run 469 for summers too...

Damn...

Here's some pics of 19'' rims that clear MPBK without issues and no spacers - the only difference I see is that they have ///M badge on the rim - maybe that means they are designed to clear MPBK? But then again 19'' M wheels are laughable. Why would BMW even make 19'' M wheels? I'm not really sure what's going on here.

Well I guess it's just one of those unsolved mysteries of x5 f15 that we will never find an answer. Just put spacers then and be done. It will look even better.

Update: I think I might know the answer, but i could be wrong too. All that 19'' rims are initially not made for x5 aren't they? I mean BMW will never make a tiny 19'' M wheel for x5. No way. 467M and some other rims on my pics above (don't know their style number) - are probably from some 3 series. So in that case - it makes sense, as MPBK are huge and rims have to be for x5 in order to clear them. IMHO real M rims for x5 start from 21''

That's odd. I have 467M's with MPBK and no issues. Dealer did the install and I definitely don't have spacers.

Can you post a pic please? I don't understand what's going on. Maybe MPBK caliper on OP car wasn't properly tightened down all the way down and was sticking out a bit? That might explain why only 1 caliper didn't clear it.

OP is the other caliper on other side ok? I mean it's either both calipers would not clear or both would touch rim and get stuck - right? It can't be that just one decided to be a bad boy? Doesn't make sense. More likely that side caliper was not installed properly? I'm not sure. Can you post more photos so we can see whole rotor with caliper?

467m is the standard wheel for the X5 Msport. You have to upgrade to the 20" 469m wheel. Fyi, they also make an 18" wheel for X5.

Ah I see. Ok then. I never thought BMW would make an ///M wheel in such a small diameter. Yes, I know about 18'' rims, I was just surprised why in the earth BMW would put an M badge on such small rims. That's even worse imho than putting an M badge on rear lid lol.

Because mine obviously do not.

Only 19 inch wheels that came with the m sport models will clear mpbk was what I was told. Otherwise you need 20 or more. I learnt the hard way too luckily I had taped the caliper before I put the wheels on and saw the front rub. Used spacers.

Bud, it's F15 OEM wheels.

Not sure what's your problem with 19'' - they look ugly, but they work the best for winter.

Thank you! I would assume that mine were not installed correctly.

If I recall the spec sheet for MPBK said you must have minimum 19" wheels or they won't fit. Sounds like the install was not done correctly, like you said.

I believe this might the problem.
These are the specs i found for these wheels:
https://www.carsaddiction.com/en/wheels/BMW/Style-467
They were probably mounted incorrectly (front on back).
