Rename Bluetooth Identification?

Is it possible to rename the Bluetooth Identification? There are two BMW's in my house hold (F15 & F30) and because between me and my wife having several Bluetooth Devices are we able to change the BT ID from BMW ***** to something more easily Identifiable? I am able to do this in my Lexus just having figured it out, if possible on my 2015 F15.

On a side note, can messages be played back through the the radio? I know I can ask Siri to read me last message but my wife is on Android and is not as friendly with the iDrive. Because of that and among other things she is on the fence about hopping on the Apple train. We both have iDrive NBT except that I have Harmon Kardon and ceramic dial. The wifey's dial is also a little smaller than mine.

I don’t think the BT identification can be changed. It’s literally “BMW” + last 5 of VIN, so hopefully that’ll help you remember. You’ll want to remember the last 7 of your VIN for buying those parts anyways

You can change the name of the BT connection in Android.
1) Long Press on BT Icon
2) Connected Devices -> Previously Connected Devices (if not in the car)
3) Gear Icon to the Right of the Name BMW#####
4) Pencil Icon at top to Edit the Name

The iDrive will read the phone based on whatever it is named.

I do agree that some of the Android integration on both the NBTs in my F15 and F30 leave something to be desired. My biggest gripe being the inability to properly read the full folder/playlist for the music I'm streaming so that the scroll wheel works.

I don't iOS, so I'm of no help there.

And no, it’s not possible. Except you can change a VIN in your NBT with coding

Ya I wish I could do this to my Bose soundlinks. Both my wife and I have one and they're literally called the same thing in BT so I constantly struggle to connect to the correct one. Ugh. 1st world problems.

Like earlier poster stated... you can change it in her phone to eliminate her problem. So instead of her Bluetooth devices sayin BMW 0001234 and BMW 1115678 she can rename them to what ever she wants on her phone. Like.. Trixys pink car and Georges Junker.

Then when she gets in either vehicle and wants to pair her phone she knows what one to select since we all know women have a problem remembering numbers for something... but that time you looked at that girls butt 15 years ago... now that she will remember...lol...

Problem solved but using a different way to go about it..

Right, like people have said, you don't need to rename the car's automatic BT ID. Just call it whatever you want in your phone. I have "M3", "Jeep GC" (for my wife's Grand Cherokee), have named each set of headphones differently, etc.
