Mileage to Next Maintenance not Incrementing
Seems that the mileage to next maintenance (front brake pads) hasn't been incrementing. It's been stuck on 3200 miles while I've driven almost 2000 miles.
Is there a way to correct this?

Don't worry, the service intervals are use based. The car will be deciding that the brakes are still not due. Mine has been showing 5,000 kms for ages. It will eventually count down when the car decides it is coming close to being required. I am up to almost 50,000 kms and have not needed pads or rotors yet.... Unlike my wife's X5!

It is a double edged sword this one.
In general the brake pad sensor updates the information in a total random fashion, some owners have huge remaining mileages to then only see it disappear by what feels overnight. Others the sensor is reducing it a bit quickly and needs reseting. The main issue at play here is that there is only one sensor for each axle, not per wheel. So it can lead to the system talking a load of crap with either more wear than it shows or less. Ultimately, do not just use that to see how much pad is left. For a laugh though mine has been sat at 3100 miles for about 5000 miles....last time it went in the health check showed 50% wear on the rear and 40% on the front, the car has the best part of 40,000 miles. The pads at least on mine are lasting very well and similar to some of the F10/11 boys. Although I have seen some 6 owners going through sets far faster, where this is down to the type of driving or driving style is easy to gauge. As I tend to lift quite early and let the car naturally slow down then it might be part of it as I rarely hammer on the brakes as it seems a bit, well, dumb. |

I think you don't understand how the system works. The "brake pad sensor" just triggers an alarm when the pad gets to 2mm thickness. Prior to that all the system looks at is mileage and counts down from what BMW considers a "likely" wear out mileage. My 2013 650i is 27,500 miles.
