You're up in a week and no decision yet? The first thing I'd do is extend until you decide.
Are you looking to stay with BMW, or are you entertaining other brands? You can go the X6M route for something the same but different. My lease is up in December. I ordered the end of August and got a Sept build slot. It should be at the dealer this week. Not sure if you order or get off the lot. |

i am usually getting something off the lot.. I am not a person that can order and wait
probably I will go with another BMW but as you said, only option is x6m.. both new x5m or x5 m50 is not going to be here until end of next year. 750 will have a new facelift soon m550 or m5 is an option but not sure about their size and winter capabilities.. |

What are the options for extending a BMW lease? How does it work as far as how long they allow, miles, and cost? When do they give this option?

FWIW, my 2016 X6M with just shy of 30,000 miles will be a lease return within a week or so. Not sure if you'd want to go that route as a bridge car to get you to the 2020 X5M. PM me if interested. Dealer is in central NJ. As far as extending, they will extend no problem if you are getting another BMW. I'm pretty sure you can easily extend for a month without obligation. You can do through BMWFS or ask the dealer. |

See if your dealer has a production slot soon, change it to your specs. I ordered mine late August with a production set for the week of 9/24. Production was complete on 9/26, released to carrier on Sept 30th. It moves quick. |

Lease numbers are very favorable for the 2018 models. Not sure about the size tho. or I will lease another x5m which i really don't want to. I already had it for 3 years and dont want to drive same car for another 3 years. |

My lease ends in December and agree that it is a bummer with choices. The new M5 looks great if you don't need the carry space. My lease ends in December - going with a Cayenne Turbo.

Never a good idea to lease a P-car. They don't subsidize leases like BMW and cap how much gets residualized.
The Cayenne Turbo starts at $124K (without options). The option list is crazy. There's no explaining P-car prices.... |

I agree. I entertained the Cayenne Turbo but the diffetence in both sticker and lease cost was huge over BMW. Biggest issue is the cap on residual. If you option out which is easy to do if you order, the options are your dime once you hit $x I looked at GLE 63AMG Coupe also. And Maserati. Stupid money for comparable power.

I would do F90 M5.
Trunk space wise, it is about the same as X5, you just lose the vertical height. It is switchable from AWD to RWD, so you are good during Winter and Summer.

Was at my dealer the other day in service and found myself having a good look at two M5 comp pack units they had on the showroom floor. Seriously close to just trading in my 16 X5M for it but I really would like to try and hold out and get a 20 though. I did pick up a m760i early this year as I was after something different and V12 oh yea. It is just a hair quicker than my X5M with the dinan stage 2 full kit. I love the differences. The X5M is like a wind up toy where the M760i sucks you back in the seat as soon as you hit the gas. I have enjoyed going back and fourth athought the X5M does not get as much excersize these days which is the only reason I may jump and grab the 19 M5. Must have self control.
