Better gas mileage after a 1/2 day track session

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone experienced this after going to the track.
My gas mileage improved after going to the track.

I'm averaging ~27.4mpg (~8.6l/100km) on my way to work (45mile trip), whereas before I was doing ~24.8 mpg (~9.5l/100km).

I'm not complaining, but I am curious as to why...

I'm thinking (more) correctly inflated tires (as I redid it after going to the track). Anyone else had a similar experience?

Check on any elevation changes between your home and the track.

If there was a slight gradient uphill on the way there, that could explain it

I went on the track a week (or two weeks ago), but as I said in the first post, I noticed the improved gas mileage on my usual commute - and it's on several occasions now.

Your car is fairly new? 2018? So maybe it's just better broken in now that you ran it hard at the track?

Or tire pressure like you said.

It's one year old... I was thinking that maybe I did some break(in) on some component that I didn't stress before.

Who knows ... It's just curious
