Looking at buying a 2016 - odd disclosure notification
So I have been looking for the right 2016 M3 for about 5 or 6 months. I've found one with <6k miles that was never titled to an individual. Instead, it was part of a "Driving Program" which was referenced on a disclosure notice provided by the dealership. The notice also states that this car is not CPO eligible. This makes me think it was one of the cars at the Performance Driving School. The sales representation that I'm working with doesn't have any concrete information on the car's history.
Can anyone provide any insight? |

More then likely one of the lot that got sent out from BMW from either the driving events or Performance centers in SC/CA...
I would stay far away from it! Thats 6k miles on a car that likely never saw the road. Only track use...thats ALOT of "track" miles. Not to mention im sure 85-90% of the drivers were far from experienced.

Your CA will be able to let you know where it came from.
Those cars if from one of the performance centers def get smashed on. I know I have had tons of fun in a few at both perf centers

the sales representative who doesn't have any concrete information on the car's history can, if he wants to, get a key-read on that car and have all the concrete information he wants. this sounds a little fishy to me.

You WILL have problems with this car, but it MAY be a good value if you are willing to put up with some inconveniences. From a pricing perspective, treat it as if it were a salvaged title and that’s probably about what it is worth. If still under factory warranty, get as much fixed as you can before the warranty expires, then get an aftermarket warranty ASAP.

The fact that it is not CPO eligible tells you everything you need to know and gives you a sense of their expectations for the car. Don't purchase that car unless its with a HUGE discount.
