F80 Extended Warranty?

Hi all, not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this, so mods please move if necessary.

I recently purchased my 2015 M3 out of the lease and I'm still under the 4 year/50k mile warranty (only have like 17k miles of the car and I'm only a couple of months past year 3).

But I'm planning on keeping the car at least until the G80 drops so I'm looking to get an extended warranty. Preferably I'd like to go through BMW. I've called the dealer a couple of times and they seem to be sending me in circles.

Where is the best place to set up the extended warranty? Through BMW? If so, who do I call? Through a third party? Whose the best?

Thanks in advance!

If you want a BMW warranty, I would reach out to the F&I department of your local dealer, they should be able to help. I would also call a few dealers in the area to compare pricing as it is negotiable. The only stipulation is that you have to be able to go there in person with the car.

That said, from what I have read 3rd party warranties are significantly cheaper, but you need to check the T&Cs carefully. Lastly, some insurance companies (Geico for one) offer mechanical breakdown insurance as a part of their policy.

The G80 is probably 2 years away (or so), and you have coverage for 1 of those years. You could also roll the dice if you're sure you're going G80. Plus you can wait and buy the BMW warranty at any point before the 4/50 is up, so you have some time to decide.
