When did the vibration start...? Have you measured the run out of the rotors or hubs with a micrometer?
I’d look at replacing the front rotors and one front hub next Also it looks like you listed front thrust arms twice or have you replaced both front arms (4 total)? If not, replace them. Also check your front toe. My car had toe out and I replaced a few front suspension parts which resulted in toe in and my problem is gone. |

E92///, my guess would be your engine mounts are shot.
I went through similar exercise, twice. Once at around 50k miles, and again after 95k miles. In both instances, regardless of spacers or not, new arms, wheel hubs, new rotors, etc, the main culprit turned out to be worn out engine mounts. Not easy to get to the engine mounts, so it's not something obvious to most owners. But I think if you are still on your original mounts at 70k+ miles, they are done. Putting new ones in, even just OE, should make huge, immediate improvement to your steering wheel feel

UPDATE:
Road force balance checked and found that all four wheels had too much weight. Previous Road force balance readings within spec. Alignment checked and found toe was not exact. Previous alignment readings were within spec Steering wheel shimmy gone but vibration still present. Last Summer at 68,000 miles with original oem suspension I hit a major pothole on an off ramp and suffered a bent wheel. Since then wheel has been replaced, Road force balance and alignment fixed. Thrust arms replaced and waiting for test drive with Factory OEM wheels. Car never had a vibration since I owned it up to 68,000 miles and now has 73000 miles with a very present steering wheel vibration. Hopefully the set of wheels will improve or completely get rid of the steering wheel Shake. A different set of wheels was put on the vehicle couple thousand miles ago and it made no difference. My feeling is that the stock suspension is worn out in the pothole created the vibration that I am experiencing now. May have to replace control arms however my shop is advising that this may not fix the solution. HRE wheels have been on the car for 2 years and no issues. Hubcentric and no wheel spacers. Shake 60mph plus at all speeds HI so all 4 wheels reblanced and told the weights were to much and toe front was adjusted. All previous print outs show within green specs so the minor adjustments only improved the steering wheel shimmy. BUT the vibration in the wheel is still there 60-95mph and goes away at 100mph. I know i hit a really bad potehole on an on ramp last year and the car had 68k miles. Now at 73k and car has never been the same. Wheel bearings i am told never cause a steering wheel shake. The suspension is original and maybe worn out. I think it could be a bent hub because everything has been rechecked so many times. Last edited by E92///; 05-30-2018 at 06:04 AM.. |
