Suggestions for drive through Black Forest and Stuttgart MB/Pcar museums
Part of our ED trip in July will entail driving from Interlaken to Stuttgart.
Stuttgart really is just a stop to visit the Mercedes-Benz and Porsche Museums and then continuing on to Rothenburg ob der Tauber. In my ED trip back in '03, we did a similar drive (just wife and I) but instead of Stuttgart we went to Baden-Baden, so we were able to drive the "famous" portion of route 500 from Freudenstadt to Baden-Baden.Frankly, I don't specifically recall that portion being that much better than the other parts of the Black Forest. We did stay in Triberg and enjoyed it and the surrounding towns quite a bit. This time, we could do the same, but once we get to Triberg, we'd need to head northeast instead of northwest. Any recommendations? The plan is to leave Interlaken in the AM, spend the night somewhere in the black forest, and go to both car museums the next day on the way to Rothenburg. Also, I went to the MB museum in 2000 on my own using public transportation. Any tips for driving to Stuttgart/Zuffenhausen? |

The way out of the Black Forrest (east or west of the B500) is pretty short so IMO just pick a random squiggly line and go.
When I went to the P museum I just parked my shiny new M3 right under the museum in their parking. Got some looks...
