Akrapovic exhaust rattling especially on load and higher gears at about 3000rpm

Hi

Has anyone had this issue ? Exhaust is rattling on loads and higher gears at about 3000rpm

Normal .. i am guessing its the full evo system which removes the resonators

Yes full evo made it even worse. I dont expect it from such an expensive/quality product although

Mate its not a design flaw.. you have removed the 2nd set of resonators and cats with the evo so the sound comes through unfiltered and raw and your valves are open so there is no manipulation going on at all. It shouldn't be a issue with the valves closed as the muffler will sort it out. Akrapovic don't deserve any blame man maybe bmw lol ?

Yes i totally understand

anyways i will put back soon my stock dp as i cant stand the smell lol. With catback i was very happy. 10- 15whp loss wont be the end of the world

Metallic rattle happens with me on cold start on some occasions.. Not at 3000rpm

I know its the valves making the noise

Inspect yours

Thats what i think too. From some source apparently akra exhausts has some issue with the valves getting loose

Sounds like a bad install, someone didn't transfer exhaust flap Springs over form the OEM exhaust see page 19 of the install instructions, top left photo shows the spring installed next is the adapter, then the retainer and heat shield. I have never had a problem with any odd sound or rattles.

It removed the secondary cats and utilizes it's own resonator which is just like the stock resonator. So it did not remove any "2nd set of resonators". Rattling is not a normal exhaust sound.

I thought akra evo was unresonated my bad. He is right in that case op check the install it shouldnt sound so unrefined.

I am a distributor for Akrapovic in my country. They will replace the slip on part of it. Apparently they know about the valve issue

Similar issue happened with my Eisenmann on the F80 and they not only replaced the whole system but reimbursed for installation to.

Not sure how different the f80 Akra differs from the E82/1M Akra, but my wireless flap had some lateral play and they swapped out the part for me. That fixed my rattling. I think their customer service is probably the best in the industry...

Check the valves, we had 2 go in for warranty. They somehow were loose internally.
