Lightbulb F/S OSRAM Night Breaker D1S HID Upgrade

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds

Item Interest
I have a pair of OSRAM Night Breaker HID upgrades for sale in D1S size. They were in my car for 6 months and I don't drive everyday during the night time. The bulbs are plug and play for the E9X M3. People typically upgrade to OSRAM CBI's at 5500k, but these are brighter and light up the road better, even when it's wet. I chose the brighter versus aesthetics upgrade route. These are ~4350k and have the right balance of color and actual light on the road.

OSRAM advertises these as up to +70% brightness and up to +20m longer beam.

You can find these for waaaay less on ebay... because they're fakes.

For serious buyers, I can give you the serial numbers and batch numbers for you to check yourself on OSRAM's authenticity website.

$SOLD shipped for the pair.

I just edited my post to give OSRAM's claims of up to +70% brightness and up to +20M longer beam.

They are noticeably brighter than stock lights and project farther. The color is perfect IMO, as it doesn't get absorbed into black pavement/wet surfaces while remaining white to the eyes.

Do these have a white/blue beam? Or is it the same as stock?

There is no blue at all. Just a little bit whiter than stock. If you're looking for blue-ish, OSRAM CBI, CBH or CBB is for you. If you do buy the CBI or other bulbs, don't be lured by the low prices on ebay.

How complicated are these to install into the M3 headlights? Is it a bumper off job?

Not difficult, no bumper removal necessary. Jack up car, remove wheel, remove fender liner, remove 5 torx screws, unclip hid connector, unclip hid bulb and put new bulb in. Reverse the process.

These are a big upgrade for the low price guys! + OP had them for 6 months which means they are still within break in time. The more hours from new, the better lighting becomes and color tone settles in.
