I have noticed the lack of rigidity in the front end and overall chassis in the E93, for the obvious reason - the convertible. My local shop has recommended a front sway bar. They're a Dinan dealer, and installed a Dinan FSB on a customer's E93 M3, they said the customer is very happy with it. Is this the best option? Any other suggestions?

I don't know much about the e93 front chassis, but if chassis rigidity is the issue.
Changing the sway bar will do absolutely nothing to change that.

To take flex out of any chassis, structural reinforment is required.

No. There is little you can do to actually strengthen it without spending a lot of money.
A sway bar may give you the illusion of being stiffer, but it is suspension tuning.
What is your goal with the car?

The goal is to not have the front end be as wobbly as a limp d*** (over exaggerating here - it still handles well, it would be nice to be more planted)

When I go over any uneven road surface the front end flexes. I've driven early 2000 mustang verts that are stiffer than this. I was driving in the backcountry and encountered a dirt road with those terrible rut strips, the car was flexing so much I thought the windshield was going to crack.

might sound stupid, but lets ask anyways- have you checked the swaybar links to make sure they aren't broken off? how about under the hood- are the strut braces to the firewall still present and tight?

I’d check the suspension bushings and shocks as well to make sure the stock parts are doing what they should be doing. Convertibles in general are lower performance cars, because of the added weight and decreased rigidity, but presumably the OP knew that when he bought one and was more interested in top down cruising than performance.

Yes 100% aware of the E93 characteristics. Just didn't think it would be this bad. Im going to try a sway bar, see if that makes a dent, and have the rest of the suspension checked out.

This sounds very odd too me. While BMW verts are technically not as rigid, there is a MASSIVE amount of reinforcement in the A pillars and rockers to bring it back to par, hence the extra weight.

Sounds like you have a serious issue.

I have driven only one E93M3 and had no complaints, but I was not on a track with it. I thought the straightline performance was a little dull compared to my modded sedan, but noticed no bad handling issues.

Definitely something is wrong with your car, E93s aren't loose feeling. Check struts, bushings, suspension arms, end links.. something has to be bad.

Engine mounts were replaced when the car was in for rod bearings. Going to get it checked out in the next couple weeks. I'll keep you updated.
