Checking warranty on used M3/M4
Im wondering what is the best way to check the warranty on a used M3/M4 im thinking of purchasing. Interested in knowing when the warranty ends.
Have the carfax but not sure which date to use as the inservice date. Tried to contact bmwusa but was told they couldn't give out warranty information unless I am the current owner which doesn't make sense. |

Yup 8/6/16 the dealer "punched" that car and it basically reports it sold so the warranty will start ticking from there. Now, if you buy the car "new" and it has been punched already the dealer will extend the warranty out so it starts for that buyer when its bought but in the eyes of the used car world it likely lost a month or so of warranty. Very common practice for dealers to do this to hit certain benchmarks so they don't lose bonuses, allocations, etc.
Easiest way to tell is call a local BMW dealer with the VIN. They can look it up and give you the exact start and end dates. |

That doesn't seem right. Seems like they are shortening the warranty. I would check with BMW NA.
