255/40/18 on 135i

Hi all. Just wondering if I will have any fitment issues with a 255/40/18 square setup.
Suggestions on rim width would also be appreciated

Cheers

Garage List

Let's see... going from 215/40/18 to 255/40/18. Let's see the section width goes from 8.6" on a 7.5" rim to 10.2" on an 8.5" rim (min. rim you should use for 255). That's 1.6" wider or 40mm give or take. Any fitment issues... depends on how you define issues.

Short answer, yes. Can it be done yes. How? See above suggestion by dane083

If you're on stock suspension, it can be done pretty easily with the right wheel offsets. I've run 255/40R17 square Federal RSRR's with no problems. If you're lowered, you'll need camber to clear the fender lips and maybe a fender roll

Wow!!!!
Why did I wait so long to change the RFT!!!!&^%$#
Holley smokes, the RFT sucks!!!!
Just changed my tires to 225/40R18 92Y and 255/35R18 94Y!!!! What a difference on the ride quality! Its almost like a new car!! After changing out the RFT, right away i felt the difference on the ride. Getting on the Highway was like "Wow".....

I'm looking to try and fit a 265 on the rear with a 9.5" et50 offset VMR wheel. I have read elsewhere that I will most likely have rubbing issues with a lot of weight in the car and I was wondering if anyone else has tried this and possibly rolling the fenders? Any help or links would be appreciated where I could find the information I need

Hey Jimmy, you would want to go with an aspect ration of 35 on the rears to keep the normal speed vs tire RPMS...Google up tire calculator and it will give you all the information needed to help you make a decision on current fitment, vs new fitment...

You def wanna stay with a 45NT
