Totalled my m4, which would you prefer...RS7 or M6 GC?

A week ago I totaled my m4 on an interstate, thankfully I'm fine and no one else was hit. Today I found out it is officially totaled...I have a Camry as a beater but to replace the m4 I'm possibly thinking of going the sport sedan route as we may have a kid in the future. I am thinking between a 3-4 year old used RS7 vs the same year M6GC.. have any of you owned or driven these and how is the overall reliability?

Thanks

M550 over those cars all day. Rs7 is nice minus the skinny tires and wannabe DCT. Not hating on audi, I have two. I have you considered an F80 or are you ready to move away for that platform?

That was my point. DCT needs a commander as it will shift when you want it to shift and shift and stay in gear if you want it to stay in gear depending on settings. Audi’s Box is good but not superior to DCT in that sense.

Does rs7 come with a bench seat option these days? If it's the 4 seats only that's going to limit its child seat friendliness / family hauling utility

My vote in that "large autobahn missile" class is for the e63 wagon. Great noises and practical body shape. I have a month of cumulative daily driving time and 3 DEs in one of those.

Tesla p100dl is probably the fastest daily in real world conditions and is worth a lock.

My friend has an APR tuned RS7 that has been bullet proof for the last 2 Years. It's a great car!

Yeah but not a real M car. I personally despise these M package cars.

My order in this price range. Panamera, RS7, M6GC.

They're pretty cool cars.

I definitely see what you're saying, but it's still a very nice car.

I have never driven any of these cars (rs7 or m6gc or panamera). But a few thoughts as a family man with a 3rd child on the way:

1. A tuned rs7 is the fastest street vehicle I've ever seen. It made my m3 look like I was standing still. Unbelievable engine and bolt on/tune potential if you want sheer speed. I also love the look of them.

2. If you are only having one child, an rs7 or similar coupe with seating for 4 is fine. I assume this won't be your primary car for family duty. I'm fine with my f80 and 2 young kids for example.

3. If you plan on DDing and need snow capability plus the ability to haul LOTS of stuff, nothing seems to beat the e63s wagon. It's on my list to go test drive; just can't find a local one and the time to do it in.

...

Good luck to you sir

Personally I'd choose something less expensive but if those were the 2 choices, I'd go with the RS7.

I love both cars, but I'd probably narrowly choose the RS7 for it's AWD and colors.

With a kid (or future kid if you are already considering), I would stay away from a coupe-based car (even a gran coupe) if possible. The low roofline makes it inconvenient to take the baby or toddler in and out without bumping his head against the roof. My wife has a 435i GC and we always have to be extra careful not to bump our 15-month toddler's head on the roof when we put him into the rear-facing carseat.

I would suggest a sedan-based car like a M5 with a taller roof, for a kid that is still rear facing.
