Ohlins install question

So I swapped the fronts today, very easy deal thanks to the diy posts from you guys, thank you!
I am using ground control street camber plates and noticed that after tightening the top mount bolts, that they do not protrude over the nut like it should. I reused the stock nuts and everything seems solid, but I'm second guessing this part. What's the consensus; Ye or ne?

seems odd to me. I searched and I couldn't find pics on another e9x m3. However, the pics posted on e90post show plenty of thread left on the studs.

maybe someone can take a quick pic of their ground control setup and text it to ya or post up?

Hmm, on mine, even thought it doesn't show on these pics I have a plate with a pointer that goes above the camber plate, maybe that needs to go

I think the pointer plate stays as shown in this thread:

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=801686

I found a few more pics and they all show plenty of thread past the nut. Are you able to remove the camber plate and snap a pic for us? It could also not be seating fully?

So sorry just saw this, been busy with the rear swap. Put the car on the ground but I can take pics tomorrow. Can the plate bind that much that even under the car's weight it wouldn't snap or pop in?

Didn't get a chance to take pics of the plates. What I did get a chance is to drive it and I got the freaking clunking that I see all too often. Frustrating as hell as I checked and rechecked every bolt and nut. But whatever I did, I did it to both sides. Very noticeable on a straight line, seems to quiet down, maybe go away during turns. Sway bar links?
I read about people doing vorslaght(sp) plates and that they needed to trim the stock top mount to fit on the plates but didn't find anything like that for the ground control.
The noise makes it seem like something is loose, clunking in an up and down motion as opposed to springs popping around as you turn. Thoughts? Comments?

I also have the GC street plates on OEM shocks but I've also put in a Rogue Engineering strut tower reinforcement plate in addition to the plate with the pointer. My studs are also recessed like yours but I didn't feel it was significant enough so I don't worry about it. No adverse issues. I added a bit of blue thread locker to help as I don't adjust my camber settings regularly.

In regard to extra noise, I get a little extra noise when going over speed humps but not otherwise. I figure this is just something you deal with when there is no rubber bushing between the spring and camber plate like there is between an oem spring and mounting pad, amongst other differences.

After a week of driving, I too have to the conclusion that this seems to be something to live with. This weekend the car will go up again to check all my torques but so far nothing has moved from my initial markings.

Something doesn't seem right. Might want to reach out to Harold at HPA to see if he has any ideas.

he's a vendor.
Reach out to whomever you bought them from.

The studs should be longer, Ive seem this before with some brads of plates.
They should be able to change them for you.

Re the noise;
Ive never had good luck with GC, but that may just be my experience.
