F15 50i life

Hey all just celebrating a year with my 2014 50. Picked it up with about 36k miles and just turned 53k miles (yep, I drive a ton, but enjoying this car quite a bit). I have added the ACS exhaust, and plan to lower with Eibach springs/rear lowering links possibly tomorrow (I have the 3rd row).

Has anyone else had a higher mileage 50 X5? What are some preventative maintenances to have done on these? The car is CPO'd until 100k miles, however not longer under BMW ultimate care.

Thanks !

I have 54k on my 2015 50I, took delivery late June 2015. Haven’t needed any special maintenance.

3 year leases started to end just several months ago - you are probably not going to find many 100k mileage cars yet. If some x5 were used in taxi - then yes, but I can't imagine someone using a $80k car in taxi

Majority of x5 owners have several cars in family and rarely they drive more than 20k miles a year. It's just not the demographics that you are looking for

I've heard people say changing the oil once a year or every 10k miles is not enough and that it should be changed every 6 months or 5k miles.

Not as high mileage of some here, but after two years it's doing pretty good.

Besides taking it in for engine misfiring (dried spark plugs), the car is running well. Partly my fault for ignoring the check engine light when it first came on. Was too busy to take it into service then and after a week the light went away and ignored it. Fast forward almost a year and the engine started misfiring and the car shook during hard accelerations. Learned it the hard way.

The X5 is one big complex computer. Never procrastinate or ignore even the smallest warnings!

Other than that, it's a beautiful machine. Come August, she will turn 4. I've said this before, but I still take a quick glance at it every time after parking it. No other SUV is as well-sculpted as the F15.

Yes. Changed under warranty at 49.5k. And that was after a valve stem and upper oil pan gasket changed at 45k.

The Eibach combo was cheaper; not as cheap as I thought though - they told me the links were included but they indeed werent. Ended up running about $320ish. I believe ACS was $500+

tunershop - based in europe. If you need a set of rear links (they dont come with any), let me know. I have an extra pair !

Also, dealer is recommending changing spark plugs at 50k, for like $900. Necessary?

83k, unfortunately not a great experience with this one..

35k - Engine replaced due to drivetrain malfunction(not covered under warranty, I suspect some BS from BMW on this one but luckily insurance covered it)
83k - Drivetrain Malfunction came again, car is inoperable and currently in shop...$1500 quote to get it fixed, hoping it doesn't add on top of this!
