Max Edrive not available - 40E

Hey guys
Got check engine light on and max edrive mode is not available. Battery is at 55%, car does not turn off on red lights and only runs on Engine. The Eboost still kicks in when driving, so battery and engine still work together but it won't work fully just battery.
It's been really cold in NY recently around 15 degrees, so maybe it's the cold weather?
Anyone else experience this?

So far mine is working ok.

The battery does drain faster these days but all its behaviors seem normal.

As usual the Max e in mine will not be available when the battery is around the single-digits %.

The engine stays ON often during the traffic light even though the battery isn’t depleted. I guess it’s due to the cold temperature and the engine is ON to help heat up some components?

Charge will be less when using heat and other vehicle features. But, mine, before fix, would just giver "not available" error even when at 100%.

Just a little update
1. Car does not turn on, Remote control doesn't open or close car
2. Trunk opens through outside button on trunk door
3. Instrument panel does not turn on
4. When I told the key to the key symbol on the steering wheel cluster, the idrive screen turns on but not responsive
5. Doors lock and unlock from inside lock button on door
6. Both batteries in the trunk are at 12.4V
7. Checked all fuses and all are good
8. Only passenger side headlight turns on when holding key to key symbol

I am out of ideas on what it could be, any clue?
Having the car towed to dealer on Tuesday

Not familiar with your case. Hope your dealer can help figure it out. Please keep us posted.

Just curious if you park it in the heated garage or in the outdoors parking.

I've driven in 20 degree weather in max eDrive without issues. Sounds like a major electrical issue that will probably take a long time to fix at the dealer. Maybe some rats chewed through some wires? I had a rats nest in my other car under the engine cover. Have you looked under the hood at the wiring or to look for nests? Sorry to hear about your troubles.

At least it is under warranty.

I hadn't made my first payment and my 40e was in for the charge box malfunctioning (it didn't work from the day I got it home, to be precise).

Mine took a year before it starting having issues. But, I made sure to contact BMW Financial and got lease payments covered for time in shop.

its been at the shop for about 5 days and no update yet. I did notice that my bmw connect app updated the car info for the first time since the issue occurred, so i'm assuming they were able to turn something on lol

Good looking in all black.

Of course, after the snow/ice, all the cars around here look *mineral white*...

Car washes will be doing a big business soon.

Glad to know she's back. I'm wondering if the dealer explains more details to you. It's the bad part or water got in or mice or something else.
