First start
Hi all,
I'm about ready to finally start this engine of mine. Everything is back in, fluids are added, battery is hooked up, etc. I was just wondering if these engines need anything special on first start up? I plan to seal the rings with varying RPM below 4000rpm to operating temp for about 30 minutes. Any other engine-specific tips appreciated! I plan on doing this in the morning.. Thanks! S. |

Hey guys,
My engine blew up at Buttonwillow a year ago.. I was supposed to have it ready for last weekend (Laguna) but didn't get it done in time... roastbeef - I was there on Sunday (I missed Saturday), but was driving something else all day. Thanks! S. |

Nothing special for ring seating. Get the engine up to operating temp and follow manufacturers 1200 mile break in recommendations, keeping RPM's and load low.
