First start

Hi all,

I'm about ready to finally start this engine of mine. Everything is back in, fluids are added, battery is hooked up, etc. I was just wondering if these engines need anything special on first start up? I plan to seal the rings with varying RPM below 4000rpm to operating temp for about 30 minutes.

Any other engine-specific tips appreciated! I plan on doing this in the morning..

Thanks!

S.

What's the back story? You rebuild it? Do rod bearings?

Hey guys,

My engine blew up at Buttonwillow a year ago.. I was supposed to have it ready for last weekend (Laguna) but didn't get it done in time...

roastbeef - I was there on Sunday (I missed Saturday), but was driving something else all day.

Thanks!

Nothing special for ring seating. Get the engine up to operating temp and follow manufacturers 1200 mile break in recommendations, keeping RPM's and load low.
