Gloss black or carbon fibre??

Hi Guys,

I've recently got a Yas Marina Blue M4 and had decided that over time I'd like to fit most of the M-Performance styling but in gloss black where possible as I think it looks great with the blue. The only sticking point really is with the rear spoiler as the factory one seems to be carbon only and the gloss black ones on ebay seem very cheap (if not too cheap to question quality).

What's peoples opinions on all gloss black apart from the spoiler, has it been done before and were you happy with the look?

It would basically be grills, side skirt extensions, front wing strips and rear diffuser in gloss but with a carbon boot spoiler. I suppose I could go carbon diffuser too but being new to the world of M and general cosmetic upgrades I'm nervous of it looking a little 'chavvy' dare I say?

Any experience appreciated.

Cheers
Che

I think it would look ok as the top half of the car would be carbon and then the bottom half would be black.

IIRC if going down the BMW MP parts route you can have the following in gloss black

Grilles
Gills
exhaust trims
rear badge
front lower splitter. (available in both unpainted and carbon)

Everything else is carbon only

Front corners
rear spoiler
rear diffuser
Mirror caps

Picture below of gloss black exhaust tips/badge against carbon diffuser and YMB, as you can see it all blends in.

Thanks guys, think I'll go black all-round but with a carbon spoiler then, just need to save some more pennies now and hide them from the other half

It's quite hard resisting as they do so many lovely add ons for the car, I've spent about 3k on it and haven't even scratched the surface.

I really want the alcantara armrest/handbrake and steering wheel as well but where do you draw the line or more to the point hide the spending from her!

HaHa Ive got a feeling they'd end up on your car

On the plus side though I could get one of your drying microfibre cloths whilst I was there!

Nice one, once I've got the car and Octobers out of the way I'll set up a thread.
