Hey guys, my F80 should have idrive 6.0 from the factory.

Has anyone tried this option to enable video in motion?

You can get it coded as well. Look for a local shop or enthusiast that does coding for BMWs. We have a couple here in SoCal that?s cheaper than that link above.

I understand.

I've had it in every car I've ever owned and since I'm not a moron, I'm capable of not paying attention to it at all and just listening. Its for my passengers (mostly my wife, or if shes driving, then me) on road trips.

What is the coding required? Last time I checked it was Sept 2016 and HU_NBT2 didn't have a solution. I have not looked since.

I had that too and my daughter would keep asking me stuff until I almost crashed so I did away with it

Fair point. Everyone's different. I dont have any children so my wife and I, two adults are perfectly capable of self-disciplining ourselves when behind the wheel.

The coding has changed from iDrive 4. They added two new strings that have to be modified and their bitmask only allows values slower than something like 62km/h which is like 3x mph. So it'll work up to that speed but not any faster.

I believe the only full solution on new iDrive is with some sort of aftermarket hardware - at least at the moment.

It is possible to code to any speed, though solution is not public. I have done it on CIC, IDrive 4, IDrive 5, and IDrive 6; it works.

An alternative is to use Bimmercode IOS app with Vgate wifi adapter.

Car 2 or 3 Wifi adapter version that is needed.

I have no personal experience with Bimmercode, as I have been coding with E-sys for quite some some. That being said, there are presents as well as expert mode to further manipulate settings. The list is expanding, but it is somewhat limited. Additionally, you need secondary app to clear errors.

Almaretto - I’ve used your cheat sheets and esys codes and i thank you for helping everyone. Are you able to now share the VIM coding publicly? I’ve got NBT2 and even with all codes it’s not working. Thank you!

With Launcher Cheat Codes, you should be able to get 39mph on ID5/ID6. No, I am not able to share.

I didn't know we were starting to go down the path of paying for codes after years of coding. Sad development.

I can't do BimmerCode, I don't want to go down the path of paying for the app and another OBD WiFi adapter. I already started that with Carly and that was awful as they don't touch iDrive coding so that was wasted money. I'm cool in ESYS but that's that.

If you're willing to help me get the actual codes in I'm more than happy to contribute to you personally. Thanks.

Hi Almaretto, where could I get a cheat sheet for the coding? I have a 2018 F82 and I would like to activate (and deactivate) quite a few things.

I had it coded a while back before the dealership did a DME and wipe all my coding but when I did have it, I never knew how to get it to work after installing it. Do I need to insert a DVD or can I like stream YouTube videos while on the go?

Hey Rob, it has been awhile since you coded my '17 Nardo ///M4. At the time we couldn't get DVD-in-motion to work. I know you sent me a text last year about coding it. Is DVD-in-motion finally working?
