Polish OEM exhaust tips

The OEM exhaust tips on my F85 have a bit of dirt and carbon build-up inside and out. Does anyone know if it is OK to polish them with Flitz metal polish and soft cotton buff bobs on a drill? Are there better options?

I have used this based on recommendation from my detailer with a micro fiber and it has worked very well

I can report that Flitz works well. I didn't take before shots, but the tips were pretty dirty. A microfiber rag and elbow grease took most of the carbon/oil off, and a Dremel with a felt polishing wheel made short work of the tough stuff. The black marks at the very bottom of the tips is actually my reflection.

re

I just did mine this weekend with Brillo pads and came out fine--they are chrome tips and would not recommend if yours are powdercoated

I just use micro fiber towel to wipe the tips clean every Carwash, never see the need of any other product to keep it look new, and it has been 1 1/2 yrs now.

Now that mine are clean I think simple maintenance like you mention will keep them that way.
