BC Drivers

Anyone here often travel between Vancouver and the Okanagan? I will be heading up to Kelowna in a couple weeks and I am wondering if I should take my e92. I would love drive the coquihalla in the m but rock chips is a great concern and I am not sure when they usually do sweep up all the gravel on that highway. Would appreciated if anyone have some input.

You'll be fine, the highway is pretty clean most of the time. If you are worried about rock chips, don't sit behind behind cars/trucks.

I drove my e92 m3 from van to Kelowna in august and it was worth it. As for rock chips like what Millie said just don't sit behind trucks. I think the unmarked cars should concern you more...

Yeah definitely, I don't have a habit of tail gating anyways. I was only worried about rock chips because winter wasn't too long ago, and I wasn't sure if the highway crew sweeped off all the gravel yet. But another member recently told me they are currently sweeping the highway as of last weekend.

Make sure you have BCAA or roadside assistance just in case of a flat or something. Also a tire plug-it kit might be handy JUST in case its a small thing you can fix (assuming you're running non run-flats, but WITH run flats you couldn't get far anyways). Some S65's burn oil at a excessively faster rate at highway speeds and RPM's, make sure you have a top up bottle with ya. Check tire pressure to and from. If you're afraid of rock chips get some 3m protection (but i wouldnt worry...). Cheers!

Thanks! I got all that covered. Just had an oil change done, so the level is full right and I keep a bottle of oil in the trunk as well.

As for the film I decided not to put it on because my car is frozen white. My friend who owns a shop in Richmond that does wraps recommended against putting protection film on matte finish as well.
