TrakkTape
Ill be traveling from PCD to MI in about a month with a new baby and want to protect against rock chips and bugs. In the past I've had great success on many occasions with blue painters tape but was lucky enough to experience blue skies and sunlight the full way home.
Can someone share their experience with TrakkTape and getting caught in the rain? Any residue or issues after returning home and peeling it off? |

I'm not sure if the tape you're using is similar to the one in the video, and if it will therefore cause the undulations on the paint surface, but I suggest watching it nonetheless so you can make a more informed decision about whether to apply tape.

QUOTE] Thanks brotha for the heads-up. You hit the nail on the head - i'm worried about the masking tape getting wet and leaving a residue behind. However, I would never never never never never protect a vehicle finish with hockey tape - made me cringe when Larry (AMMO) said that. Anyway, thanks for posting but didn't answer my question about TrakkTape. |

When I went to a HPDE last year I used the trakk tape. Put it on friday afternoon. Actually rained pretty heavily that night. The tape held up really well. Took it off sunday afternoon and washed the car. No issues with tape residue whatsoever.

I concur!
+1 on the Trakktape. It rained for a few hours while I had mine on the car and I was able to remove it without leaving any bits of adhesive residue. I think the residue might be more of an issue if the tape is removed during colder ambient temperatures. |

No issues with traktape after leaving it on for about a few days while I waited for a good time to put the clear bra on.
