I live in NJ expecting my F80 next week or so. What is the ideal temperature to use these tires. Tempature in NJ is around low 40'. I am not expecting to buy winters tires until end of the year. I have read that 40degree is fine but is there anything i should know.

DON'T PUSH THE CAR AT ALL IN THE COLD WITH THOSE TIRES. Any aggressive throttle and the rear wheels will spin. I'm also very cautious pushing into corners because the grip is simply not there.
Wet is even worse. Drive it like a normal car and you will be fine. You are just getting your M, so telling you to drive it like a normal car may sound silly. In the summer, when those same tires stick like GLUE, driving normal is very difficult. That peddle on the right is intoxicating to say the least. Good luck with the new ride. |

Don't drive under 32... the compound can crack when exposed to those temperatures.
I usually change back to summer tires in mid March, just to be safe. Sometimes early April. |

I call it BS. Past my 7 years I drove all my bimmers during NYC winters with summer tires on. Sometimes in - degrees F.

1. They are super dangerous to be driving around in <32°F 2. They are prone to stress cracks below freezing You can contact the manufacturer yourself, if you please. And I would find it hard to understand why you would think it's okay to drive w/ summer tires on when it usually snows quite a bit up here. Unless you never drive in the snow, that is. |

Virtually any car is un-driveable w summer tires in snow , especially the colder the temp is - I had a Mitsubishi evo x that had an awesome all wheel drive system which included a snow mode setting and if I had on my summer tires in snow I couldn't drive above 5-10 mph - not to mention you will significantly shorten the life of the tires
