Pics of totaled DD and new M3 Competition
Long time German car guy, primarily Porsches, that deviated for a moment with Japanese (RFF) for my daily driver, totaled the RCF on the 9th and picked up a Competition Package M3 last night.
First impressions . . . miss my Orange RCF and wanted to take it back and get a 991.2 last night, but I really can use 4 doors with 5 year old. Lol, hopefully it will grow on me and I still have some 2 seaters for fun and track. |

Not to sound mean but the M3 will eat and RC-F are you missing the sound/ feel of a NA motor?
Give it some time, worse case sell it and get another RC-F or look at a C63s. |

Is anyone following break-ins strictly on these things? |

I hope you get coal in your stocking Doc.
Enjoy the new ride and sorry for your loss! I think you'll enjoy the torque, it's a handful! |

That said, you could leave all of that stuff off. I drive cars for feel and performance, but if they put it on and I use it, I get annoyed when it does not work the way I want it to. High bottom issues . . . Very grateful to have things I enjoy. |

Sorry for your loss. Actually, not really. No one will miss that Lexus. No one. Not even you. Quit your lying!
Congrats on the M3! Enjoy! |

Is anyone doing break ins on these things? I usually drive them like I stole from day one, but I am kinda new to the BMW line. |

Congrats on the new M. LOTS of different povs on break in procedure on this forum. I ended up following the recommended break in procedure for the first 1200 miles, just for peace of mind.

Example and didn't have time to meet with BMW genious last night after our purchase.
I want all 3 settings to stay sport +, the heads up to stay in mode with tach, gear and mph and perhaps the performance display on split screen with navigation. Every time I get back in, all of the above have to be manually reset. This is the same on Porsche, except Porsche shut down at stop also turns back on every time you turn off. Can I save all of those settings? The blue tooth phone issue on Porsche is when you dial out, it flips to bluetooth, I flip back to phone and then it flips back to blue tooth again when someone answers. Trying to stream music from phone via blue tooth to Porsche stereo gets weird if phone is connected and charging. It tries to extract phone through USB instead of blue tooth which has degraded sound quality and sometimes refuses to go blue tooth at all when plugged in and charging. Seriously minor annoyances, but Lexus worked seamlessly on all of the above. |

Yep. I figured about the differing POVs and thinking I may keep it reined in just in case some weird failure later hits. No clue as to how BMW is on warranty issues.

Yes, you can program just about everything so it re-adjusts to your settings at the push of a button.

That is pretty hard core. My daily drivers prior to the RCF were 97 993tt, 01 996tt, 04 996tt cab, 08 997.1 tt cab. . . . Got hit late in life with new young wife and baby so needed a bigger back seat than the 911 turbos had.
That said, I really liked the RCF. 32k miles in 20 months without a hiccup and it never disappointed me and I am performance junkie that's raced cup cars and open wheels for 3 decades. Looking forward to a dry day to play with the M3, but had fun on the wet surfaces out on some hilly twisties in the country earlier today. Car is very well balanced and predictable at limits and rotation. |

Sweet to know. Hope to have time to mess with over the next few days, but the last sentence is all I was looking for. Thanks for confirming.
