Turning on Anti Dazzle on Canadian Models
Does anyone know for sure what package or feature you have to have (besides LED) to turn on the anti dazzle via coding? I sent my vin to a remote coder and he confirmed I can do it. I have executive, premium, and speed limit info as options. I somehow thought I would need high beam assist via the tech package which I don't have. That said in order for speed limit info to be active I have to have the front camera which I know is needed for anti dazzle.
Anyone know for sure? |

Yes, for us Canadians, we definitely need to shed $3500 for the LED headlights ($2000) plus the Technology Package ($1500) to be able to activate the anti-dazzle high beams.
In the US, HBA comes with the LED headlights, but not in Canada. HBA can only be had with the Technology Pack. My understanding is that HBA comes with a different "steering column shift unit" which includes an additional little processor and the HBA button at the end of turn signal stalk. Without it, it is not possible to activate anti-dazzle . You can always code Variable Light Distribution for the low beams and increase the high beam intensity.

Thanks for the answer, and that sucks.
I guess increasing high beam intensity is something though. Last edited by Sassicaia; 07-07-2016 at 09:47 AM.. |

Any chance you anyone can give some more information about increasing high beam intensity? Something I can pass on to my coder so he knows what to do here? Seems like it might not be something he is aware of.

Simply ask him to do the complete coding for the anti-dazzle and VLD, this will do the trick for the high-beam intensity. Also, the Variable Light Distribution is also well worth having coded for the low beams.

Like CanAutM3 said, since you have the LEDs, just have the anti-dazzle and VLD coded. You will not have the full features but will have some of them which is good in any case.

Hi all, I have a new '17 M4 on order with the Ultimate Package which includes pretty much every feature. What exactly is anti-dazzle & VLD? Is that the same thing as the euro spec LED lights where lights move around vehicles in front and on-coming traffic?
