Driveterain Malfunction - 2016 x5 50i

Hello,

I just left my car at dealership since it is Sunday.
The story is during the drive, the car shaked back and fourth and warning was up in the middle of highway.
I was so so panic and move the car to the sideway slowly.
My family was inside car and the situation was really dangerous.

It is brand new 2016 X5 50i and it is about 8000km so far. I am very frustrated and disappointed with bmw. Does anyone been through same issue before?

Thanks,

lots of owners on bimmerpost have the same issue with the 50i...
I ended up having to get my engine replaced with a new one after 29k miles on a 2015 50i...although I think it was seriously misdiagnosed by BMW.

Good luck, it won't be the last time you see it unfortunately...should not be happening on a $70k+ car.

it shouldn't be happening on any new/newish car.

The stellar N62 engines, would have ordered a V8, but not worth the gamble...history starting to repeat itself.

That's exactly what happened to my vehicle, here is the thread you can refer to.

http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1258168

My advise to you is to pay attention during receiving of the vehicle, make sure they haven't scratch the rear bumper in way of left & right exhaust openings, they were to lazy to remove the bumper in order to get the exhaust pipes out so they had decided not to and eventually they'd managed to scratch the bumper while fixing back the exhaust.
I'd refused to receive the vehicle and I wrote them an email/claim, now the bumper is removed in order to get it properly repaired & painted.
