MPE question
Had the MPE fitted yesterday and overall I'm pleased. Definitely looks the dogs bollocks. Sounds alot better. More burble on the over run.
My question is, and I think I already know the answer, does it get better sounding in time and how many miles does it take to break it in ? Last edited by dunny247; 06-04-2016 at 06:52 AM.. |

Yes I have heard others say it gets better with miles , and deeper sound seen threads on M3 cutters re this, Also our JCW is the same 6500 miles on clock as sounds far better to me.
That looks fantastic more pics and video of the sound would be great |

Valve controller also makes a huge difference, I've got cg precision for mine.

Mine got noticeably deeper and a bit less raspy on cold starts after about 2000 miles.

Yes they definitely are . From the side profile of the car the exhaust is very noticeable as compared to the stock exhaust. And the bore looks bigger but not by much. Maybe it's the carbon tips which are making it look wider .

Was thinking of you yesterday. Had one of 'those' trips where car just wasn't fast enough pulling from 60ish unless I kept dropping gears - just what we were talking about re the ACS power difference. A dollop of extra torque would be useful.

my car seems to make the engine noise over 4k revs when I floor it but no power surge. it feels very flat these days. traction is so good that it feels almost underpowered... I swore to myself I wouldn't be heavily modding this car, but as it's my daily drive and I want it to be fun and noisy I think i'm going to have to invest (rather waste) my money on MPE and ACS power upgrade. any news from Lorcan about the CP power kit? it looks unlikely that I can make Goodwood this year now

Could well be fatal as that'll have RS suspension, power upgrade and their exhaust all wrapped up in CP package.

I'm so glad I'm happy with my car, as it would be very expensive otherwise.
Although I'd love to go the whole hog as it's such a good base that the MP/ACS mods will take it to another level.
