If you're going to have any kind of long-term paint protection applied (clear film or otherwise), best to do it now before you get any rock chips, etc. The front end of the X5 is a magnet for rocks and bugs due to the vehicle's size and height.

Since most detailers can put you in touch with an in-house tint person it also makes sense to have that done at the same time if you're so inclined (though it's not a big deal to do that afterwards, this is more of a convenience thing).

Outside of that, all weather mats and cargo liner. Anything else, do whenever you want.

Re: weather mats, I went with weather tech. The cargo, rear seat (two row configuration) and passenger side mats fit great. The driver's side mat isn't quite as flush as I would have hoped but it's more an aesthetics issue than anything else. The mat still covers what it needs to cover.

The BMW branded weather mats look to be the weather tech mats with a different name slapped on. I think price is pretty much the same.

Thank you!

Amazon does not seem to carry weathertech , is there a place people order from ( directly from weathertech, store?)

I have asked for a quote for the Paint protection film but what is the range for such a quoting?

If you're going to any paint protection, then get a quote on Xpel or something along those lines. I personally don't do much highway driving, so have never gotten it on any of my cars.

XPel has many options , hard to tell what is essential:

If I had to choose one, it would be just the front bumper. Since you don't have the M Sport, rear arches are probably not an issue.

When I got PPF done, I went with full bumper, quarter hood, quarter front fenders, and side mirrors.

It's the passenger eject button. Use it carefully.
