Digital Instrument Cluster

Forum Newbie here and my X5 35i is in "finishing touches"

The "Standard Features" on my build shows Analog instrument clusters, but a reading in places that you get the digital Multifunctional instrument Display.

Any word if you get Analog or Digital Display in the US for X5 2016?

Wow! Really?
In Canada, I believe it's been standard since 2015...at least on the M sport models

If the digital instrument is important to you cancel your order and order a new one? Simple as that.

no guarantee the next will be equipped with it either... perhaps this is a 2017 option and no longer an april+ build rumor.

I have a digital dash in my wife's 2015 X5. I have an analog with enhanced features in my 2015 330i. Both are good, but am more used to the analog in the 330i, which is enhanced with the HUD (Heads Up Display).
I do like both, but I drive in Sport mode most of the time, and really don't like the large red readout of the digital dash in sport. On the plus side, it displays what gear I am in. There is a small display in the analog, but not displayed in the HUD
One feature I do like with the digital dash in comfort and that other mode which I don't use, is the speedo numbers get larger near where the needle is sitting. Great for my 53 yo eyes, as I can see what speed I am doing. Have a HUD in the 330i so not a problem.
Is it worth having? Probably if you like the latest and greatest. Is it worth cancelling an order for? Not in my opinion, as it is how the car drives that is important to me, not how the technology looks. The digital dash came with the car I purchased. Would I pay extra for it now? No. Would I buy a car with one in it? Yes, if the price or car was right.

I feel the HUD is more important than the digital dash. It will be on the list for further purchases.

Cheers,

Ken

I thought it was standard in Canada for the Msport. Oh well.

Mudnut , you can disable that sport mode display on the instrument cluster.
I had it on my 650GC, but I think it is still useless when you are on the track. You still can't see the RPM and speed when you are concentrating driving fast. It is not helping either that you can't hear the sound of the car.
And with the digital cluster, you are missing some features on the HUD, such as the most usefull one, blinker on HUD. In M Car case, you will lose the RPM on HUD feature I believe.

Thanks for the info. It is my wife's diesel X5 and I only seem to drive it when it needs fuel. I will look into disabling the sport mode display, as I am the only one that drives it in sport mode anyways. Don't think it will ever see any track time. When I upgrade my 330i to a M2 (once my son leaves home), It will see some track time

Cheers,

Ken

I am not seeing anywhere that it's a guarantee - it was ordered for production last week - but the speed at which it was built ( shows at NJ dealer today ) makes me believe an existing vehicle ?
