First car to really pull away from me.

Come across a V10 RS6 in maidstone today. Debadged, different exhaust and bloody fast! Sounded lovely too. Mine is remapped so what would that be running?

V10 570hp stock - fully expect him to pull you, easily. Tuned they are over 700hp.

The first car to pull away from me was a Mclaren 12c the other week... Had a good race between a roundabouts and if the sprints we longer the gap would have been bigger. That cornered superbly well too.

I have a good friend that had the v10 RS6 and his was 720hp

They are immense when tuned. Will never know what's it's running - but my mere 3.0 TT did well against it.

To be fair that V10 RS6 is going to pull away from A LOT of machinery.

And it'll no doubt give the likes of Porsche 911 turbo a good run for its money.

I have been in the car before and after the box was fitted, not a chaep thing (2.5k) if I recall rightly, but it's rapid, we had an R8+ to play in while he waited on the RS6 again a quick car, however I love the m4 and does what I need, more looks and stares I think

Hmm, seems you lot aren't driving right! My colleague, Kev, reckons he "fackin had one of them RS6 Aventadors" last week, in his clearly underrated 2003 Yaris T Sport.

To be honest the M3/4 is a quick car, 100mph in 8.5 seconds so if it's dry you'll keep up with most "normal" fast cars to 100mph so the V10 RS6 would have been tuned unless your TC was holding you back.

After 100mph the power of the V10 would tell against you, it's the area where I notice my M5 was quite a bit quicker than the M3.

I'd fully expect a (current generation) RS6 to pull away from you, remapped or otherwise! Those 4.0 V8 TTs are epic motors either way. And then you can add 4wd into the equation... Good luck hanging on to the tail of that! Bloody rocket ships.

No doubt they are rocket ships, but perhaps its their only party piece? Would be interesting to see what they'd be like against the M4/M4 in the twisties.
They weigh two tonne.

If its anything like my last experience in a friend's chipped audi A3 TDI, something like this...

In all seriousness, I'd think they've got some clever differential tech and 4WD setup to help these days? I'm sure it still has a bias to push in lieu rotation though.

They are indeed rocket ships but feel very ordinary to drive, no drama or sense of occasion as you turn the wheel which is at odds with the looks and interior which are lovely but the drive is very clinical in the RS.

I am yet to drive a decent Audi, tried RS4, TTRS, S3 and TTS and they all were inert, I expect the only decent one out of the whole bunch is the R8 but for £140K my money certainly wouldnt go to Audi.

Wise words. I borrowed an RS6 for a day to see if I could warrant changing our Disco for it (and buying an old Defender to do our slog work and not buying M3). Two things struck me - it was totally devoid of any character - just was ruthlessly fast which I suppose is okay but not what we (I) wanted. Also the ride was bloody awful. Second was our local dealer - you would have thought they might actually make a fair margin on these and thus be interested in our business having finally agreed to give us a car for the day (that took a LOT of negotiation). Nope - could give a sh*t about closing the deal.

Back to BMW (for better or worse).

Yeah I drove a friends I loved the looks and interior (although the seats aren't as good as the M multifunction ones) everything is very refined and you can see the attention to detail I was quite excited, until I turned the wheel into the first corner as there is just nothing to feel.

Very quick from a standing start though and looks the business, he adores it but he's very much an Audi man.

Just made me numb. Ultimate family wagon at speed? Not sure. I'd never want to have my kids in back at those kind of speeds that it's capable of (and only then do you appreciate its ability). Came away with upmost respect but a no for us.
