Borrowing puller tool for the exhaust tips
Has anyone in LA removed the exhaust tips of their car using the puller method like described in this thread?
http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1223946 If you still have the wood block/puller around, can I borrow it for 30 minutes on a weekend so I can install the new exhaust tips on my car? Thanks Last edited by fongph; 04-22-2016 at 03:59 AM.. |

If you can't find someone with the puller... I was able to remove mine with a large adjustable wrench (like this - http://bit.ly/1XN5Elp) and a rubber mallet.
Just open the wrench to the widest setting, put it at the bottom/rear of the OEM exhaust tip, and then hit the wrench with the rubber mallet (to the back of the car). I also sprayed some WD40 from the back, and I had all four tips off in about 5-10 mins.

^ I pretty much used the same technique.
2 were really easy & the other 2 took some time. You just have to be persistent & patient. The 2 stubborn ones had to be tapped from the rear several times at the 4, 6 & 8 o'clock position and then manually pulled towards me.
