Widest tires for stock 264's with no rub/modifications?

I see Dac's thread stuck up there (http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=510873), and being virtually anyone who has questions might not read any further, I don't like seeing this also:

I think its the strands of rubber that are formed when they make the tire in the tire mold. These strands stick out from all over the tire. And I only noticed it when my LR tire got fully compressed when cornering hard and hotting a bump. After 400 kms I never heard the rubbing again.

It was like the the first time when i switched over to PS3's. And this year (Spring) when I replaced my rear tires again with PS3 255's in the rear... the noise was heard a few times, but after 400 kms not any more.

My advice would to go out and put some miles on those tires. I don't think they will rub for very long. I really did not even think it to be an issue - to mention it, bc the rubbing went away after the first week or driving.

So me being new to this car, what is the truth?
Might it not be better to make a chart of what tires fit and with what camber settings?

Can I put 255's on the back W/O rubbing?
What brand/model?

You'll be fine at stock height with 225f/255r on those wheels.

Just had the Michelin PSS setup in the upsized versions put on the car and all is good. So much smoother and stickier than the RFs.

One of the other considerations was that when I inquired on the smaller tires (match for stocks), the rears were special order and the fronts were unavailable for two days from my local tire shop. Apparently, it's an 'odd' size and not a lot places carry a full set, in stock.

If I get a flat on a long trip I thought it would be prudent to utilize a tire that would be readily replaceable if I needed to buy one (or two) in an emergency.

I pulled the trigger on these (with rebate) and haven't regretted it at all.

I too was wondering about tire fitment. I have a 2011 135i Convertible w/ Sports Pkg, no modifications. I was looking at the PS2 ZP 225F 255R and was wondering if there would be rubbing issues.
