E92 DCT rear end noise

Hey all - 08 e92 DCT, 98K on the clock and a strange noise.

Symptoms- When loading the drivetrain (acceleration ONLY) i'm hearing a "thud-thud / "clunk-clunk"" type noise.. This happens when accelerating from a stop with anything more than around 10-15% throttle. Also will occur when getting into the throttle better than 20% or so in 2nd. This is definitely an engine torque induced noise from the drivetrain, somewhere. From the drivers seat, it sounds like its coming from the rear seat area. There is no "metallic ping" (as is the case with driveshaft problems) nor does it happen when the load changes from accel to decel. I think this effectively rules out driveshaft issues.
Diff fluid was swapped over to FM recently, and the diff noise i was hearing before is gone. This sounds persists, and gets notably louder with more weight in the car (me + 2 passengers recently) Car also doesnt chirp second or 3rd on hard 1-2 or 2-3 upshifts like it used to, telling me something is sloppy in the drivetrain.

I know the noise is in the rear end of the car somewhere, diff bushings? diff support structure? subframe? some sort of axle support?

Anyone with similar experience or pointers / suggestions for an easy diagnosis (without a lift) are appreciated!

Don't we have adaptive transmissions?
That means your transmission adapts to your DD drive style
and therefore it feels for you sluggish.
Only because the car doesnt chirp on hard accelerations doesnt
mean its broken in any way.
As for your clunk noises, our cars tend to be little noisy beasts.
So ///M's come with all sort of mechanical noises
But instead of pin pointing in the dark, best bet for you would be
to upload an vid, where we all can help you much better.

Don't focus on the lack of a chirp on one two upshifts, more on the "wholly shit my rear end is going to fall out" noise !
Lol I'll try to get a vid but car is not my daily driver so it's in the garage

The M-DCT does make some weird noises from time to time. I find that driving very gingerly actually makes it worse, and the owner's manual even said that some noises and clunking are considered normal.

I wouldn't worry about chirping between the gears. That's going to depend on a ton of variables like tire wear, overall grip, road surface, ambient temps, etc.

Update - I've owned the car long enough and driven it quite hard, I'm positive that this doesn't fall into the "normal M noise" category.
Again, noise occurs on initial loading of the drivetrain, and is persists through torque loading. In other words, it's not exclusive to a single noise upon acceleration. I'll try getting a video up soon, but it's snowing and cold here.
