Competition Package necessary? Which tune to get for first timer?

I'm about 2 months out from ordering my '16 M5 and I'm wondering if the competition package is worth the money. Is the suspension gonna be that much different? I would like to throw one of the piggy back tunes on to compensate for the hp. My questions are

1. Would my $7300 be better spent elsewhere?

2. I would like to ideally achieve 600+ whp. What's is the most efficient way I can get to this point. I would like to stick to plug and play items if possible.

Thank you for your time

Especially if your leasing it.

Don't get the CP for the additional claimed HP. The changes with MDM and steering were reason enough for me. The suspension and exhaust were a bonus.

+1

Def worth it and if you are leasing the car you're really only paying for a portion of the $7300.

CP is worth it but test drive to see if it is worth the money for you.

Problem is, I've never driven a non CP model and I don't think I'll have a chance to before I order it. Any advice as far as the tune?

Comp package is for sure worth it, especially if you are just leasing the car. From improved exhaust note to MDM/steering improvements, the package is a must. Just like someone else said above, do not get CP just for the HP gains. You can get way better results with a proper re-flash as our basic stage 1 gets to you to 630whp. So, if you are looking just for the power, then tune is a way better option for you vs the CP, but for overall enjoyment and experience of the M5, CP is the way to go.

Excuse my ignorance but I am also new to the M5 world, and I am looking for a tune on my 2013. What is CP, and what is a good re-flash option for me?
I'm hoping to install down pipes so is there a tune that will delete the engine warning?
Any info helps. Thanks

CP is competition package and there's a tuner in your backyard named Eurocharged. I'd go check them out

I've had one non comp pack M5, and two with comp pack, and I definitely think it's worth it if you didn't have prior intention to change the wheels, suspension, and exhaust. The power gain is secondary to the other characteristics the comp pack affords. The comp pack provides a more dynamic and fulfilling driving experience.

I am happy with my 2015 Comp pack with tune only - last Dyno was 642hp. Many of our customers are thrilled with the performance our software offers - and the ability to flash the car in less than 5 minutes in the comfort of their own home once the ECUs have been programmed by us the first time.

With outstanding software, features, and second to none customer service, you can't go wrong with a BPM tune: http://www.bpmsport.com/services/tuning/s63-tune.html

If you have any questions or would like more information, feel free to call or PM
