Battery registration in Ottawa
Anyone have any recommendations. One person is advertising on Kijiji and seems very knowledgeable.

What are they asking for? For around $170 you can get all the tools you need (BMW Carly) to do it yourself plus you'll have a diagnostic tool to use for the future. This is the route I took.

+1 on getting Carly and doing it yourself. Although, have you called the dealers and see what they charge? I believe I was quoted only 0.5 hrs at Elite.

Thanks for the feedback.
Carly-I'm a pretty old guy not so good with computer stuff, can see only ever using it once. Few yrs ago I bought a used VAG COM for my Audi-never used it. Elite: ½ hour is good but still probably $60 + taxes. Few yrs ago when I was buying my car from USA, Elite told me about $2500 b/c they HAD to change instrument cluster (NOT). I'll keep checking around. My battery is original to 2008 tho car is always winter stored, battery charged every month or so. |

Talk to Rudi Duss of Duss Bros. on Wellington St. Have found service there to be more reasonable than the dealers. I believe he can handle any coding other than keys.
