Has anybody done this route?

www.northcoast500.com

I'm really liking the thought of doing this in the convertible. I know there's a trip to Europe being organised on the forum but after watching the Evo Car of the Year 2015 video I'm feeling it for Scotland. As I'm going to be very, very, very old in May this year I'm thinking of luxury hotels, fine dining and sedate open top cruising with Mrs CH (sorry). Anybody up for this?

The same guys that are doing the Eurotrip did the NC500 in September last year. Pictures and words will be in the March edition of Performance BMW magazine. All I can say is that it should be on everyone's bucket list, it was an amazing drive.

Not done the whole 500 route, but done many other routes and miles in the Highlands. Some of the roads, and all the scenery, take your breath away, literally. Its almost a spiritual experience in some parts. Cant recommend highly enough. Im back up there at Easter, then May, them October, as much as i can really.

Like Denso Said,

We did it back in September and it was a fantastic weekend. Some of the roads were perfect to drive!

Hotels along the way arent 5star but will do for an over night sta. I would certainly advise doing it at somepoint and take your time doing it too!

I'll make sure I get the March edition of BMW performance so I can check out the report on that trip. Will be interesting to see. Did people take their partners along for the trip or was it more of a car nut only thing?

Haha yes, she is supportive if me being a petrolhead and the scenes were breath taking. Infact, in the next couple of weeks, ill post up a thread with the pictures of the trip! Just realised i haven't done that yet!

NC 500 trip

As Denso and Mike said we done the NC500 last year,
IMO it was amazing well worth the trip
Driving your car close to its limit on un-policed roads ,
You have a BMW M car that you will not push her to the limits,
But you have a chance of doing it if you drive the NC500 IMO
