Productions Begins

Like every morning for the past 2 weeks, I called the 1800 number prepared to hear that my car was scheduled for production with an unknown date. Instead the customer service guy tells me that my car had just started production!

So exactly 2 years ago (Jan 10 2014) I custom ordered a fully loaded 335i M-Sport 6MT. At the time it seemed like a dream come true. I know I wanted an M3, but the orders for the F80 had not started yet and I could not wait any longer to get my first BMW. Coming from a STI I thought I would been happy with it for years to some. Except since the first few F80 came out, every time I see one on the road, I know I should have waited and just got the M3. My lease is not up for another year but I just could not wait anymore, so I finally ordered my dream car.

Anyway I have been lurking on this forum for a long time, time to share my story and hopefully some pics soon. Here is my build in the meantime:

2016 M3 - MW - 6MT
- Sakhir full leather
- Executive package
- 19' Black 437
- Adaptive suspensions
- Enhanced USB

- Black kidneys
- Stainless steel pedals
- M Carbon diffuser

You will find yourself calling that number everyday to hear the change in status from now on

Congrats! What production week? I'm week 3 and in status 150 for the past month. Hoping it changes this week.

Congrats! I had a similar story (without the lease). The 335 lasted 2 years. The F80 will last much longer!

Even thought the genius confirmed my production it is nice to see the BMW site updated, makes it that bit more official. Since there's nothing more to do than wait, I have been ordering new detailing products, and creating a shopping list for mods
