M4 Rear Spoiler&Diffuser No Longer Port Installed?

This is the info my dealership shared with me today. We tried to add them to the list yesterday, but they weren't there. Rest of M performance parts were listed. On Monday, they will call Oxnard port to inquire about it.

Did anyone manage to get it recently as PIA? Otherwise I'll have to call BMW NA to push for it.

I just took delivery and they were dealer installed, not available port installed.

Had the same issue. I ended up going with Mode Carbon.

The solution is to talk with your CA . Some people managed to get it. They have to do a bit of legwork to get the parts installed at port.

My car is being delivered tomorrow and both spoiler and diffuser being Port Installed. It may just be a question of availability/supply. If they have it avail at the port, they should be able to install it and add it to your build sheet.

Have your CA/Sales Manager call the regional manager to call the port directly to verify what they can install.

Both of those parts are available as port installed. Your CA has to find the right person to talk to though.

When I placed my order in Nov only the black grilles were available as PIA. According to my CA, they needed to wait until the car was due to arrive at port to see what would be available. They did not seem interested in calling anyone on my behalf to make it happen. Not happy with that, I contacted BMW NA directly and they were able to confirm mid Dec that all but the rear CF spoiler would be installed. They also confirmed that rear CF spoiler was in short supply at ports due to "supply" issues. There is another thread that talks about this and possible quality issues with CF parts.

If your CA will not work with you to push for PIAs. Then call BMW NA directly. I started with the Genius number and they were able to get in touch with the right people for me. Once the parts are added to your build sheet, you are guaranteed to have them installed at port.

My CA (who has been extremely good about getting "unavailable" parts added to my order).

The parts are absolutely available if your CA talks to the right person.

Yeah, he's usually pretty good about it. I've have grills and MPE on my order, so it's going to be in there to get those installed already.

Whats the benefit of having these parts installed at the port?

Im guessing it adds to the build cost and you only pay the residualized cost in your lease payment vs buying the entire part after delivery.

Yes, and if you negotiate the price of the vehicle above invoice, you wouldn't actually pay the full 1600 since you wouldn't be paying MSRP for the exhaust.

The MPE goes into the final MSRP sticker price of the vehicle, so it would go up by 4000, but the invoice price wouldn't since the invoice price is less than 4000. So your cap cost wouldn't go up by 4000, thus making the actual payout for the exhaust over the lease a little less.
