Buying Two New BMW's... Looking for the right deal / dealer...

My wife and I are both in the market for new cars. After months of trying to decide what we wanted, and test driving various models, we came up with the X5 for her and the M4 for me...

If anyone knows of someone who is great to work with, and can provide a smoking good deal, we would be interested in exploring that avenue. Since we are buying two BMW's we are hoping we can work something out that will make us and the dealer happy at the end of the day...

Thanks,

Jim

Hm.. "smoking good deal" and "make us and the dealer happy at the end of the day" sound mutually exclusive to me.

You might be able to find cars already on dealer lots that fit what you are looking for. But I think if you have to order, I think you may find "smoking good deal" harder to get.

I have bought my wife and I vehicles at the same time twice. First were Audi Q5 for her and S4 for me. Second were a 2014 GTI for her and 2015 GTI for me. Both times I didn't get any special deals even though I purchased two brand new vehicles from the same dealer at the same time. I don't think I tried hard enough. Good luck to you!

We will probably not find my M4 on someones lot as I know exactly what I want and I am willing to wait the three months to get those specs. But you never know. I have been to several dealers here and some do not even have any on their lot and the others had one maybe two... And I am in the fourth biggest city in the US...

On the smoking good deal... I expect the dealer to make some money or he wouldn't be in business. But with two cars maybe one of them will say I can make a little less since he can make some more off the other car as well.

Basically we have done the research when it comes to the options we want... All they have to do is place the order...

Walk in the door when they open on 12/31. Excellent pricing will ensue. Guaranteed.

Second this suggestion, at least on the X5. It might be hard to find a dealer with an M4 allocation. But end of year combined with end of month combined with holidays = best time of the year to buy/lease a car.

That only works for cars on the lot since they can close that day and get the sale on the books. Cars ordered won't count for such things until delivery.

If you're a member of the BMW CCA, remember your cash back rewards can only be redeemed 1x per calendar year, and it counts as the day you sign the paperwork, not when you redeem it.

So, if a CCA member, there's something to buying the X5 now and the M4 in January, you can double-dip on the rewards.

Well that bites... Guess buying two BMW at once doesn't pay off...

it does. i got almost 12k off MSRP on a 335i fully loaded that was on the lot and 5k off msrp on an M4 when i purchased them together from the same dealer. Granted there were other factorsbut if i hadnt gotten both cars simultaneously it wouldnt be that large of a discount.

Good to hear... Was the M4 on the lot or did you order it?

It was ordered, but I was signing the paperwork on it that day. In reality, even if youre only ordering one car and buying another, just make it known that you want to build a relationship with them, long term, and they will take care of you. If they dont then on to the next one

So I found out that if I had my wife as an associate I could have gotten the rebate for both cars... A lesson learned...

This was the response from BMW club on the rebate policy:

"Since the membership is in your name it qualifies you to a rebate as long as you have been a member for a year and meet the terms and conditions. If Stacie is an Associate and has been for the required minimum one year then she would also qualify for the rebate. Associates can be added to memberships for only $10 a year and they receive the same benefits as a member, however only one Roundel Magazine is mailed per household. If Stacie is not an Associate you will only be able to claim one rebate. I have attached the terms and conditions for you to view. Feel free to contact me back with any questions. "

I found a BMW dealer close to home and was able to close on buying the two vehicles. The X5 could be here as soon as the end of January and the M4 has a possible delivery date by the end Feburary.
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who reached out and helped me in the buying process!

Thanks again and Happy New Year!🎉

I had great experience with Schomp BMW. 2016 M3 invoice +$500 no dealer fees. Ask for Jeff Tucker.

We have the same setup and its an awesome combo.

2015 X5 XDrive35i (Purchased 12/26/14) - 14% off US MSRP (Basically $4000 under US invoice after all rebates/incentives)
2016 M4 Convertible (Purchased 9/18/15) - 12% off US MSRP (Basically $100 above ED invoice after all rebates/incentives)
