Your Estimated vs Actual Build Date
My dealer said my production number has an estimated build date of the first week in January.
How accurate was the estimated vs actual build date for you guys? |

They are usually pretty accurate, unless there is a problem. Also your build week is the week your car will finish production. It'll start before then.

Got a prod # and called in (out of excitement) and BMW rep told me it was status 111 and would be 112 on the 5th of Feb and that was the only date I was provided.
Is this the build week? Or is the build week given to me at a later date? Was kind of confused as it was my understanding the production # already has an allocated build date associated with it. |

Status 112 means the production week/schedule is determined, the build week would follow a couple weeks after that.

112 to 150 can take some time, but then it flies through. Regardless, as mentioned already, BMW Genius should be able to tell you your build week.

Not quite. Status 112 means scheduled for daily production pack. Initial scheduled Build week is determined the day the allocation is given to the dealership.

I was scheduled for week 47 and was at status 112. It actually went into production at week 50. No idea why the delay. Dealership and BMW NA couldn't tell me why. Some BS about my color and option combination.
Of course it pushed my car delivery into 2016 but then I got to thinking that I will pick up a 2016 in 2016 so maybe that is a little better. Probably not but................

Good to know. My dealer swapped an allocation from another dealer so my process started with a production number at statues 112. Not really sure how long it was sitting at 112 but I'm expecting it to sit there at least another month.
We're going on vacation the middle of March so I'm trying to speculate if I'll get the car before then. The dealer will only speak vaguely as I'm sure they don't want to over promise. This has already become the longest wait of my life and it hasn't even been a week. |

I hear you about the waiting. Calling BMW Genius every day, buying mods and adding to my order seemed to help some... But it's an expensive way to pass the time. I've been waiting since early October and my car is scheduled for delivery on 1/22 at PCD. It was scheduled for production week 48, but it finished a few days early and I expect it will arrive at the PCD a month before I'm scheduled to pick it up. I hope getting the car exceeds my expectations and anticipation. |

I just got off the phone with the "Genius" and they weren't able to provide the Build week. And I'm status 111... Hmm

I'm so with you on this! Week 5 build, Order Status 111. Been about a week since my order was accepted by BMW AG.
I'm hoping the build week bumps up into January, esp since i'm at Priority 1 - Customer Sold... *fingers crossed* Quote:

Make sure your order is final. My car went into production three weeks earlier than my dealer expected, and so we didn't have a chance to make any changes to the options. I was going to add the Executive Package, but didn't get the chance. In my case, BMW might have moved it up to line it up with other Ms that were being painted San Marino Blue, so they could do several at the same time. If you're not doing an individual color, this may not be an issue for you.

Genius confirmed today that car went into production (status 150) on 12/8 and is scheduled for completion on 12/18. My understanding is you do not get a build week until it goes to status 112 when it is assigned to a production pack. I also had two other dealers tell me in November that they had production # with Jan week 1 build date. One could not produce a valid production # and the other only provided a # at status 47 which I learned meant order was in BMW NA system, but no allocation from BMW AG was available. No way either of these dealers had a week 1 production # - both were obviously lying to get my business. I am thankful this forum exists to keep us all in the know. Best of luck! |

Don't call the 1800 number. It is always behind and never gives you any details. Call BMW genius to ask for your tentative build week for your production number.
