March ED Pick Up

Has anyone picked up in middle of March? I would like to drive over to Italy but not sure how it will work with an M4 and the snow.

What is the weather like in Germany in March? Snow? What are the passes to Italy like? I plan to pick up around March 12th. Would prefer info from someone that has already done an ED in March in previous years.

If the roads are too bad through to Italy, how accessible is Eastern Europe?

I lived in Germany for 7 years. Most of those years, March had little, if any snow. Two years we had an insane amount in April. I've driven to Italy many times in March and never had an issue. In most places, you can expect certain weather at certain times. I found March in Germany to be less predictable. Roll the dice!

I happen to be in GE right now and it's pretty mild. It's 37 now - high is 52. No snow but there will be a couple of days of rain later this week.

I forgot how much I missed the Autobahn...
